11 Days Gorillas, Masai Mara and Zanzibar Safari : This incredible Wildlife safari and beach holiday package is an East Africa adventure taking you to 3 adjoining jewels of the region that is Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve and the beautiful coastline of Zanzibar.
Your starts with a gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park allowing you to spend one hour with the rare mountain gorillas, then fly to Kenya for an encounter with the Big 5 in Masai Mara on game drives and guided walks.
The safari ends with a beach holiday on the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Kigali & drive to Volcanoes National Park “Parc National des Volcans”
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your local driver – guide. After a short briefing, you will embark on a drive to the country side to Kingi at the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. The drive typically takes 2-3 hours and along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the rolling hills.
When you arrive at your lodge, you will check in, spend the evening at rest as you wait for dinner then have a night stay as you prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you will depart for the park’s headquarters where you’re a senior ranger will take you through the rules and regulations to follow on gorilla trekking, be grouped in 8 people and then be allocated a gorilla family to trek.
Head into the forest for gorilla trekking looking for that specific gorilla family, depending on the movement of the gorilla family you are trekking, the trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 8 hours. Your guide will then lead you along paths created by machetes and with constant communication with the trackers, you will locate the gorillas. The hike takes place on the altitude of over 2,500 m, so it can be tiring and steep in some parts.
When you find the gorilla family, you will be allowed to stay only one hour in their company taking pictures and observing their fascinating behavior.
Bear in mind that flash photography is not permitted as it irritates the gorillas.
After your one hour with the gorillas, you will head back to your lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 3 – Tour of Kigali & fly to Nairobi
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kigali City where you will have a short city tour visit the Genocide Museum where you will learn about the horrific 1994 massive killing. After lunch, you will be driven to the airport for your onward flight to Nairobi.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will meet your local guide and be driven to your hotel in Nairobi. Have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4 – On safari in the Masai Mara
After breakfast, you will be driven to Wilson Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Masai Mara, this flight of 1 hour is an adventure of its own as you can even spot wildlife from the air as you fly low in the plains of Masai Mara.
On arrival at the nearest airstrip, you are met by our representative and be driven to the lodge for check-in. you will be staying in Masai Mara for the following three nights.
Day 5 – On safari in the Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day on safari in Masai Mara which is one of the best Big 5 Safari destinations in Africa and an ideal destination for first safari or safari aficionados. As you explore the endless plains, you will spot several animals including zebras, lions, leopards, giraffes, gazelles, buffaloes among others.
Day 6 – Masai Mara
This is your final day in Masai Mara, you will explore Masai Mara on morning and afternoon drives in the savannah plains of the reserve. Other activities available to do include walking safaris, horse riding and more.
Since this is a private safari, you will have more flexibility depending on your preference.
Day 7 – Fly to Zanzibar & transfer to the beach
Have early breakfast and with en-route game drive, you will drive back to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airstrip. After lunch in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the airport for your direct flight to Zanzibar, on arrival at the airport you will be welcomed by our guide and drive your hotel where you will spend the next four nights.
Day 8 – Zanzibar Beaches
Relax and enjoy Zanzibar Beaches at your leisure, there are a host of great activities to participate in from PADI diving courses, visit the Jozani Forest for day trip to keep you occupied. Also, you can visit the neighbor smaller islands.
Day 9 – 10: Zanzibar Beaches
Spend the day relaxing at the beach, you can indulge in a visit to a spa or explore Zanzibar at your leisure.
Day 11 – Fly Home
After breakfast, you will checkout of your hotel and be driven to Zanzibar Airport where you will check-in for your international flight back home or to your next adventure.
