7 Days Rwanda safari – Gorillas, Golden Monkeys and Chimpanzee trekking.

This is a full Primates safari in Rwanda. First, go for Gorilla trekking and then Golden Monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park. After this tiresome hike, proceed to Lake Kivu for relaxation on the beaches overlooking the Nyiragongo Mountains in Congo. You will have a chance to walk the canopy in the thick rainforest of Nyungwe. This will be coupled with Chimpanzee tracking in Cyamudongo Forest before you return to Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport

On arrival at Kigali airport, you will be received by our company representative who will transfer you to a hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes national park

After breakfast, you will be taken around to the interesting tourist spots in Kigali city including the Gisozi memorial ground. In the afternoon transfer to Ruhengeri town where you will stay overnight in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes national park

Day 3: Gorilla trekking adventure

This day is a memorable day for your adventure in Africa as you will meet the most yearned mountain gorillas as they swing in the montane forest.

Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking.

In the morning return to the Volcanoes in search of these awesome Golden Monkeys. This time you will have an opportunity to meet these endangered species. It is a great opportunity!

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Kivu

Spend this day relaxing at the splendid sandy beach at Lake Kivu. If you don’t mind a boat cruise will be arranged for you to visit the coffee and banana plantations on the horizon of is Island. On the horizon, the Nyiragongo volcano in Congo makes the whole place scenic.

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

On this day travel along the shores of Lake Kivu to Cyangungu for an overnight in anticipation of a primates trek the next morning.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking/canopy walking

Enjoy a forest canopy walk in Nyungwe forest as you meet troops of Angola colobus monkeys and the chimpanzees. This forest is home to about 13 primate species. Don’t miss this chance!

Day 8: Return to Kigali

Transfer back to Kigali with en-route visits to Nyanza King’s palace, the Butare national museum, the tea plantations along the way, the genocide memorial site, etc. Our tour guide will transfer you to the airport for your return flight.
