Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Airport Pick up –Transfer to Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and drive you to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for overnight stay.

Day 2: Kampala – Visit the Top of the Falls

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park through the famous Luwero Triangle. Have a stopover at Masindi for lunch and continue to Murchison Falls National Park, on arrival you will head to the top of Murchison Falls which is a fantastic sight. Here is where River Nile, the longest river in the world forces its way through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters.

From here, continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game drive – Boat cruise along the Mighty Nile           

Take a cup of tea or coffee and head to the park for an early morning game drive to the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park led by your tour guide, the game drive is very rewarding with encounters of wildlife like hyenas, leopards, jackals, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, elephants and many more.

You will enjoy a 4-hour game drive around the Bulingi game tracks which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles and down to the Nile – Lake Albert Delta. Return to your lodge for mid-morning breakfast and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will head out for a boat cruise or launch cruise along the Victoria Nile. This boat trip is often cited as the highlight of your Uganda Safari Trip to Murchison Falls National Park allowing you to see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, brightly colored kingfishers and bee-waters among others along the riverbanks. You will also see hippos and crocodiles in the waters, the boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness and beauty. Dinner and overnight at.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up and transfer you to Kibale National Park – the primate capital of Africa, drive to Fort Portal via Mityana – Mubende road. You will have a stopover in Mubende and visit the Nakayima Tree, have lunch en route and continue to Kibale National Park arriving in the afternoon. Check in and relax for the evening.

Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Safari Lodge (Luxury), Chimpanzee Forest Guest House (Midrange), Kibale Guest Cottages (Budget).

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

Following early breakfast, head to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing about chimpanzee trekking dos and don’ts by the park ranger, this activity begins early morning at 8.00 am and spend half of the day in the rainforests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees.

The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours of looking for the chimpanzees and enjoying sights of other primates in the forest like grey cheeked Mangabey, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, Red-Colobuses plus Blue tailed monkeys and many bird species. When you locate the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour in their presence taking pictures and watching them go on with their life.

After the amazing experience, trek back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates and head back to your lodge for lunch. In the late afternoon you will head to the Bigodi Swamp for a walk where you will see various bird species and monkeys like olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park located on the foothills of the Mountains of the moon. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular wildlife safari destination in Uganda and the second largest park located at the base of the majestic Ruwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George.

The park has prolific game including 4 of the Big Five – lions, leopards, cape buffaloes and elephants. Other animals include Uganda Kob, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and Nile crocodile among others.

You will arrive in the park in time for lunch and later in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive exploring the park’s savannah. Lookout for various animals as well as birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning Game drive, afternoon boat cruise

Day 8: The Ishasha Sector transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – a gorilla trekking haven with en-route through the Ishasa Sector where you will see tree climbing lions resting on tree branches.

You will have en-route lunch, expect to arrive in the late afternoon. Spend the rest of day relaxing at your lodge. Have dinner and overnight at.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Park 

Have early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by Ranger guides about gorilla trekking experience which starts at 8:00 am, you can get porters to carry your extra luggage an start off your real exciting mountain trekking safari.

In groups of 8 people, head into the forest in Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. During the trek you will enjoy sights of other forest creatures like birds and olive baboons. The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night, when you locate the gorillas you will spend one hour in their presence while taking pictures, watch mothers groom their babies and baby gorillas play on tree branches among others.

Trek back to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla certificates and embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi – the deepest lake in Uganda and the second in the Africa. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10 – Bunyonyi cruise and Transfer to Kampala

Wake up with the rising sun, have breakfast and go for an exciting boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the serenity of the lake with cool breezes as it soothes your skin, you will visit some of the islands in the lake and enjoy their fascinating stories.

Later, check out of your lodge with packed lunch and embark on a journey to Kampala, have stopover at Kayabwe Equator Crossing for pictures. You will arrive in Kampala late in the evening and you will be dropped off either at the hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or at Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
