This Uganda Safari takes you on an adventurous visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will engage in gorilla trekking experience where you will have one hour of being in presence of a habituated gorilla family, gorilla habituation experience for four hours of being in a semi-habituated gorilla family and the visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing experience.

Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking, Gorilla Habituation and Wildlife Safari 

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or upon arrival at the airport in Entebbe International Airport, he will brief you about the safari and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Along the way, you will have a stopover in Kayabwe at the equator crossing for pictures and in Mbarara for lunch. Then proceed on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing through the beautiful rolling hills of Kisoro which are referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. Arrive in the park in late evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Uganda gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: You will wake up early in the morning on day 2 of the safari, have breakfast and donuts with packed lunch. Your drive will pick you up from the lodge and drives you to the park head quarter where the rangers will take you through a short briefing before embarking on a memorable experience of Gorilla trekking in the wilderness of Bwindi impenetrable national park that thrills with green beautiful montane rain forest. After a short briefing you will be accompanied by the ranger and you’re free to ask him any question about mountain gorillas.

The trek might take 2 to many as 8 hours depending on the location of gorillas, as you’re trekking you will have a chance to spot other primates like monkey species, trees, notable birdlife among others as you listen to sweet melodies of the birds. Note that, to participate in gorilla trekking you must be 8 in number per group per trek and children below 15 years of age are not allowed to trek. Once gorillas are found, you will be given one hour to watch them as they play around, feed their younger ones, and learn their life style as well as you enjoy the photography’s for your future remembrance. Back to the lodge do refreshment, dinner and overnight stay. You may choose to have an evening Batwa experience as an optional activity.

Day 3: Gorilla Habituation experience in Bwindi Forest  

After breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters about gorilla habituation experience. Head into the forests of Bwindi for a full day of being with a semi habituated mountain gorilla family. You will follow a gorilla family and witness a gorilla family being habituated together with researchers and scientists.

You will take part in collecting samples about the gorillas, take part in naming them among others. After a full day experience, you will head back to your lodge for freshening up and rest. Later, you will checkout and embark on a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late in the afternoon, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and boat cruise  

Wake up for breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains enjoying sights of animals including waterbucks, impalas, lions, antelopes, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes and many birds. Later you will return to the lodge for a short rest and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise on which you will watch many water animals such as hippos and crocodiles in the waters and herds of elephants and buffaloes along the banks of the channel and many birds. Later on, you will head straight to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: morning game drive and Return to Kampala /Entebbe Airport

Wake up early and head to the park for a morning game drive exploring the park more, after the amazing experience. You will return to the lodge for a full breakfast. Then checkout and embark on a journey back to Kampala, along the way you will have a stopover at the equator and in Mbarara for lunch.

You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
