18 Days Uganda Wildlife Tour, Gorilla Tracking Safari
This 18 Days Uganda Safari is a complete safari circuit for tourists visiting the most interesting tourist destinations in Uganda. Search for the mammals, including primates in Kibale Forest, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and visit the Source of the Nile, Bujagali falls, Ngamba Islands and other tourist destinations.
TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1: Kampala
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel for a Kampala city tour as you refresh yourself from the jet lag. The tour will take you to different heritage sites which include the Kasubi tombs-a burial site for the Kings of Buganda, the Uganda museum-the oldest museum in East Africa, Makerere University-one of the oldest and most great educational institution in Africa and the Bahai temple-the only temple of Bahai faith in Africa. Spend the evening relaxing, or carry your own shopping in Kampala at the local markets that are also worthy to visit. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge / Mamba Point or any other of your choice.
Day 2: The Source of the River Nile
After breakfast drive to Jinja, which is the past most industrialized town in Uganda. Have a stopover at Bibbo village to pay a visit to the Sezibwa falls formed by the only Human born river Sezibwa. Later drive to Jinja. The Asian quarters, the brewery industries and the colourful gardens are one of the en-route attractions you can see on the drive. Visit the true Source of the Nile where the Biblical Nile emerges. Dinner and overnight in Jinja Hotel
Day 3: Jinja
Spend the whole day trying the unforgettable emotion of the white water rafting on the World’s high-grade rapids of the Mighty Nile-the World’s second longest river. Have a picnic lunch at the Bujagali falls. Dinner and Overnight at Jinja Hotel
Day 4: Jinja – Mt Elgon NP
After early breakfast drive to Mbale arriving late afternoon. Relax at the lodge as you refresh from this long journey. Dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort Hotel
Day 5: Mt Elgon National Park
After breakfast visit, the Romantic Sipi Falls are found in Kapchorwa, north of Mbale. We shall go for a nature walk where you will see different floral species including Elgonensis lobelia and dotted clusters of peculiar grounds. After having lunch, visit the caves and the plantations of coffee, matooke and sugar cane. In the evening return to Mbale, for dinner and overnight at Mount Elgon Hotel.
Day 6: The Rhinos of Ziwa Sanctuary
After breakfast, leave Mbale for Murchison Falls National Park. Dinner and overnight at Masindi Hotel.
Day 7: Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive viewing others; Hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and sometimes elephants, among others. Many birds can also be seen at the banks of the river. These include goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Evening game drive before you retire for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 8: Murchison Falls Conservation area
After breakfast, you will enter the tropical rain forest of Budongo for a guided nature walk. From the forest, there are a number of chimpanzees as well as other primates. After lunch embark on an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 9: Fort Portal
After breakfast, start off from Murchison Falls National Park to Fort portal. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon.
Day 10: Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, proceed to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzee trekking as well as encountering other primate species in the forest. Dinner and Overnight at Mountains of the Moon.
Day 11: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National park enjoying a game drive en route to view the different animals which include; the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species. After lunch, go for a launch/boat cruise where you will see all the animals along the shores drinking water. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 12: Queen Elizabeth NP
After a cup of coffee/tea embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks expecting to see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, and water-bucks, kobs and, the leopard, plus a lot of small animals and birds. Have lunch, and in the afternoon drive to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth via Maramagambo Forest for dinner and overnight at Savannah Hotel.
Day 13: The Ishasha sector
After breakfast, take a morning game drive in search of the famous tree-climbing lions which are always spotted clinging to old fig trees. A drive through this open Savannah landscape characterized by a variety of acacia trees is quite a memorable adventure. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National found in the southern part of the country. In the evening, you may enjoy the Batwa Cultural dance. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp / Kitandara tented Camp.
Day 14: Gorilla Tracking
This day is for your gorilla trekking exercise in the Bwindi impenetrable forest, have lunch then later relax at your hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp / Kitandara tented Camp.
Day 15: Enter in the ” Switzerland of Africa”.
After having breakfast, we shall take a scenic drive to Kabale taking you through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. The scenery and the cool temperatures have awarded this area to be referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa. Make a stopover at the Bakiga Museum in Kabale to discover the culture of the people living in the area. After having lunch, take a boat ride on Africa’s second deepest lake. The boat ride will take you to various islands for bird viewing and sightseeing. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island/ Bunyonyi Overland Camp/ Bunyonyi Safari Resort.
Day 16: Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna national park in Uganda. Reaching Mbarara by lunchtime, have lunch at Lake View Regency Hotel. Take an evening game drive through the park. On the drive, you expect to see beautiful impalas, cape buffaloes, zebras, oribis, elands and topi. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. A number of acacia associated and water birds can also be seen in the park. These include Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Caruthers Cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp.
Day 17: Lake Mburo NP – Kampala.
Have an early morning game drive through the park and later return to the lodge for breakfast. Go for a guided nature walk to the salt lick area where there is a blind observatory animal that can allow you to see more than four different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. After having lunch, embark on the drive to Kampala having a stopover at the Equator for some photos arriving in Kampala late evening. Dinner and Overnight at Cassia Lodge / Mamba Point Guest House.
Day 18: Reserved for departure
Relax at your hotel then later be transferred to Entebbe airport for your scheduled flight.
