• Heat: January and February can be quite hot, with daytime temperatures averaging 31°C (88°F). We recommend light clothing and staying well-hydrated.

The Green Season: March to November

Don’t let the term “Wet Season” deter you; Murchison Falls typically receives less rainfall than other regions of Uganda. Storms are often intense but brief, quickly giving way to bright African sunshine.

While the risk is lower during the dry season, precautions should always be taken.

• Consult your doctor: We recommend seeking advice on preventative anti-malaria medication before you fly.
• Pack correctly: Wear light-colored, long-sleeved clothing during the evenings.
• Use Repellent: Apply insect repellent (containing DEET or Pyrethroid) every 4–6 hours.
• Mosquito Nets: Always sleep under the mosquito nets provided by your lodge.
