Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Our guide will pick you at 08:00 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest). Have your first stop over at the Equator crossing in Kayambwe for pictures and buy snacks, proceed to visit to Igongo Cultural Village where you will visit the Ankole Museum.
Have lunch at Agip Motel in Mbarara and proceed with a drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primatesand exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Have early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing which begins at 08:00 am, a ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow which in the forest and presence of mountain gorillas. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks and comfortable jungle boots.
In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours of tracking on steep and slippery trails but it is worth the effort. When you locate the gorilla family you are tracking, you will spend one hour with the gorillas watching them play on tree branches, grooming each other under a watch eye of a dominant silverback. You are allowed to take pictures as long as you flashlight if off,
After one hour of taking in this magical experience, you will trek back to the park headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificate and head back to your lodge. Later in the day, you will go for a visit to the local communities living around the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a drive to Ishasha Sector which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see the tree climbing lions resting on the branches of fig tree. The Ishasha Sector is dominated by acacia woodland and scrubland and features the meandering Ishasha River banked by a riparian forest.
After picnic lunch drive, drive all the way to the northern sector the park. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive to see more animals that habit the park including predators like lions, leopards and other game, over 500 bird species that have been recorded in the park making it a Mecca for bird watchers. Some of the birds in Queen Elizabeth National Park include the black bee-eater, 11 different species of kingfisher and several falcons, eagles and other raptors.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The cruise is a 2 hour launch cruise on the a waterway joining Lake Edward and Lake George, as you cruise you will enjoy seeing schools of hippos, buffaloes and elephants at the banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth Park filled with memories and embark on journey back to Kampala with en-route game drive. Along the way you will have lunch in Mbarara and when you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
